CANVAS Church Houston is deeply grateful for the generosity of Kindred Lutheran Church. Kindred owns 2515 Waugh Dr. and has been kind enough to open their space for our spiritual family on Sunday mornings. The two communities share similar visions and passion: to be present in and to the Montrose area in meaningful, relevant ways. CANVAS gathers on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m., and Kindred gathers for a one-of-a-kind Dinner Church in the evenings. Both operate out of the same building at different times. Join CANVAS Church in Kindred's building!

What to Expect:

Worship at Canvas may vary slightly from week to week, but you can always expect time for:

  • reflection

  • prayer

  • a reading from the bible

  • teaching

  • celebration of the Lord's Supper

What should I wear?

Wear what you are comfortable in. We want you to feel at home, and one of our primary values is authenticity.

Is there anything I should bring?

If you own a Bible, or have a Bible App we would encourage you to bring it with you . If you like to take notes, you are welcome to bring a pen and a journal. We offer free breakfast refreshments and coffee in the parlor room (outside the sanctuary) before and after the service.

I’m not a Christian.

You belong. We commit to being a safe space for you to explore your beliefs- regardless of whether they match ours.  We invite curiosity, doubt, confusion. You are not required to believe exactly what any one of us believes. Our primary goal is that we walk alongside each other in authentic community, and that we love each other well.  Feel free to ask questions, offer an alternative point of view, or just take things in.

I have kids.

Bring them! All humans are welcome. Our service is held in a large space; your kids are welcome to join us in worship and in community in a way that is meaningful for them. We have space for them within the sanctuary where they can create, draw, play, and be present while we gather.

What time should I get there?

Our worship service begins at 11 a.m. If you would like to connect with others over a snack and drink, please feel free to join us at 10:30 a.m.

Where should I park?

Kindred Church is located just north of the intersection of Waugh and Westheimer, across from Campesinos coffeeshop. See the green sections in the map below for parking.
